While others just seem to struggle with every single detail.
Do you know what the single greatest factor is for any great party? It is you, the host or hostess. You are the biggest contributor to the success of your party. By expanding your personal knowledge, style and skill level, you are able to increase the level of success for your parties. Here are some suggestions that you can add to your repertoire of party skills.
1. What is the purpose for hosting your party? Are you honoring a specific person or event? Knowing exactly what the purpose of your party and when you are hosting it, is the first piece of information you need. Now you know exactly how much time you have to create this party. The longer the time line, the more planning you can choose to implement. The shorter the time line, the simpler your event should be. You can easily plan parties with very little time and be spontaneous with a little bit of party knowledge.
2. To make sure that you do not overstretch yourself, your time, skills or finances to host this party, you need to plan properly. The right menu and recipe selection is critical to achieve your desired outcome and that is taken care of during your planning. The right recipe selection including choosing the right ingredients and knowing how to plan a shopping list correctly. Using effective planning techniques can ease the burden of your time at the last minute. Effective planning can also help make your party perfect. Plan your time, your schedule and your budget carefully and you will be rewarded. If you do not plan properly, your results will unfortunately show that as well.
3. A critical area that you need to address when planning your party is your decision on the theme. You can choose a flamboyant theme that involves costumes and acting from all the attendees as would be required with a murder mystery theme party or you could choose a subtler theme that just ties the loose ends together. Your theme touches on all aspects of your party including invitations, decorations, table centerpieces and of course your menu. 4. Consideration of whether or not to serve alcoholic beverages also needs to be addressed in your party planning. When making this decision. address your guest list, the theme of your party, time of day and overall feel of the party. Make sure to address the food and serving ware in this decision as well. It is important to include a non alcoholic beverage to be served alongside to provide choices for your guests. Consider the option of hiring a bartender to prepare your drinks if the size of your group warrants it.
5. If you envision a more casual event, make certain you have coolers available for bottles or cans of soda pop and beer, and plenty of ice. For a backyard barbecue, some of the best dinner party menus center around burgers and hot dogs seared on the grill. Whatever you dont have, you can rent"extra grills, a tent, paper lanterns, a dance floor"look up party rentals for your neighborhood on the internet or in the phone book.
Of course you will want to think about ways to keep the conversation flowing and handle any awkward moments at the party. Learn how to remain unstressed so that your guests energies remain elevated during the festivities.
