Both young and old have a special fascination with magic tricks. Just the thought of being able to amaze friends and yourself with your powers of prestidigitation is very exciting. However the best way to start is not necessarily to Google the word magic

The word prestidigitation means "skill in performing magic tricks", problem is this skill rarely comes naturally. Conjurors have to practice to be able to say "Hey Presto" with any conviction.

Great magic shops will show you a magic world of magic tricks, so get yourself a collection of simple tricks to start with. As good a place as any to start could be with a recommended top ten, and practice these to perfection. As your skill improves and these become believable, market your skills and make some money from them.

Unfortunately even the most adept alchemists could not turn led into gold, so this is not what we are suggesting. There is a sincere demand for entertainers, in particular, magicians, for fetes, fairs, birthday parties and corporate events. I have even seen magician performing in amongst the customers in restaurants.

In order for and illusion to be an illusion, sleight of hand needs to be practiced. To practice any new skill, you need to have the right tools, in this instance it is magic tricks. To find the best, which will make you look good, you need a good Magic shop.

Magic tricks come in three levels of difficulty; Easy Magic, Intermediate Magic and Expert Magic. It would definitely not be a good idea to get started by sawing your next door neighbour in half.

Get your magic shop to recommend a top five or top ten and work with these magic tricks first. Practice and move on to the next level of expertise, but only once the easy tricks have been mastered. With practice and determination you can possibly move onto safely sawing the neighbours other daughter in half.

As good a place as any to start these days is with an instructional DVD, :Born to Perform" by Ox Pearlman is as good a place as any to start. And if you check out Magic World, they have an Executive Magic Collection available which provides a super cross section of props. Disappear in a puff of smoke in style with the right tools and amaze your friends and family, these will after all be the first audience you have!
