Anti snore products work in several different ways though they are all designed to help stop snoring. Snoring is mainly due to the blockage or restriction of airflow through your nasal passages and airways. When your airways are constricted the soft pallet in your throat drops and vibrates which produces a snoring noise. Extremely loud snoring is many times related to sleep apnea in which you completely shut down your airways which actually causes you to wake up.

Nasal strips are very easy to use as you just put one on over your nose and this helps to keep your nasal passages open. However if your snoring is due to the collapsing of your throat you will need additional treatment or products.

If your snoring is due to inflammation in the throat or tense muscles then aromatherapy can help to loosen everything up and relax your throat muscles. Aroma therapy can be used by inhaling the aroma or by applying the oil directly.

Your snoring can be due to lousy posture when you are sleeping which puts pressure on your neck. By using a pillow that provides more support and is specifically for posture when sleeping you can stop snoring. These special types of pillows keep all of your airways open.

If you are a very heavy snorer then many doctors will recommend a sleep mask. These masks are attached to a small pump that applies pressure to the face and neck to keep airways open. However when compared to other anti snore products these are very expensive and many users say that they are very uncomfortable and make sleeping difficult.

Sleeping on an incline can help to keep you airways open and this is recommended when you have a cold. By using an adjustable bed you can sleep on an incline which produces less pressure on the airways and diaphragm so you don't snore.
